Blackburn Landfill

Catawba County, NC purchased three Jenbacher engine generator sets, each with a capacity of about 1 mW. The units were located at the Blackburn Landfill in Catawba County. All construction documents were prepared by ICT. ICT designed the electrical utility interface and SCADA. The site, which received residential waste from the entire county, was designed to be expandable to include a total of six units.

The units have been in place since 2001. The owner reports good uptime and payback within the predicted time period.
