Areas of the hospital which were added or renovated include open heart surgery, CV/ICU, ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab, special procedures, MRI, CT Scan and two new patient floors. New mechanical and electrical system highlights included a new 2200 ton chilled water plant with primary/secondary pumping, 1500kw emergency generator, new emergency distribution systems, medical gas farm and above ground diesel fuel tank, all complying with the new Florida Hurricane Disaster Preparedness requirements.

The open-heart surgery addition and renovations consisted of: 

• 89,800 SF new construction 
• 37,700 SF renovation 
• 53,700 SF refurbishment
