Thomasson, Farnham & Smith (now I. C. Thomasson Associates, Inc.) was responsible for the expansion and upgrade of an existing central chilled water plant at Mississippi State University.
Because the chillers are housed in a historic building, the project included the restoration of the historical character of the building facade in coordination with the Mississippi Bureau of Archives and History.
- Added two 1,000-ton chillers to the existing 2,000-ton plant
- Redesigned the central plant, loop and building piping systems to provide a primary and secondary pumping arrangement with variable speed secondary pumps
