NASA Building 4220
Marshall Space Flight Center, AL
ICT provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design for a new 140,000 SF, Class A, five-story office building housing NASA engineers, scientists and support staff.
Energy efficient mechanical systems consist of high efficiency variable speed motors, individual HVAC controls to optimize the space comfort, and a fully integrated building automation system to optimize building performance and occupancy environmental satisfaction.
On-site renewable energy systems for the facility include a 120 KW solar generation system consisting of approximately 10,000 SF of self-ballasted solar panels. The system is designed to support a target level of five percent of the annual energy cost for the facility.
