Highwoods Properties Virginia Springs Office Complex
Phase I consists of a new four-story, 112,000 GSF, Class A, core and shell office building. Each floor is approximately 28,000 SF. Energy-efficient design and sustainable features are incorporated into the base core and shell building. Our mechanical design efforts for the project included early energy modeling and the life cycle cost of available mechanical systems. Each proposed option was thoroughly evaluated by the design team, owner, and construction manager for constructability, life cycle cost, sustainability, and estimated return on capital investment. Final system selection consisted of an air-cooled chilled water medium pressure VAV system. The MPE design for this project utilized the REVIT BIM platform to deliver a fully coordinated MPE model for construction.
