The Baskin Center contains more than a dozen classrooms, a 21st century trial courtroom, an appellate courtroom, a two-story law library and more than 20 faculty offices. The building was designed with the needs of law students in mind, and features numerous amenities including a student common, offices for student organizations and a locker room.
ICT provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design and construction administration for a new three-story, 71,000 SF classroom and office building and 500-car parking garage.
Sustainability:
- LEED NC Gold
- Five percent of the parking is designated for low-emitting and fuel-efficient vehicles and carpool vehicles.
- Electric charging stations.
- Geothermal system provides stable temperature pre-heating and cooling.
- Highly efficient water source heat pumps.
- 27 percent energy savings.
- Minimization of the building’s footprint covers five levels of underground parking for 520 vehicles.
Project Highlights:
- The Baskin Center offers four different porticos to represent the four types of law: local, state, federal and God's.
