The Fisher Center for the Performing Arts
Located on the campus of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, the Fisher Center was dedicated in September 2021. The 1,727 seat multi-functional venue caters to diverse audiences with major concerts, plays, operas, dance productions, musical theatre and other performances and special events.
The Belmont Performing Arts Center is an approximately 1,500-patron facility specifically geared towards the needs of the Music and Performing Arts departments of Belmont University. The building includes green room, two recital halls, multi-purpose backstage rehearsal/warm-up room, and a three-story tall lobby/atrium area that doubles as a ballroom and conference assembly area. The building is served by an air-cooled chiller sized with a bank of ice storage tanks to not only meet demand load but also to keep operational costs to a minimum.
I.C. Thomasson Associates, Inc. was selected as the MPE/FP engineer for the new Belmont Performing Arts Center. The state-of-the-art concert hall is designed to cater to the needs of the Music and Performing Arts departments of Belmont University, with a capacity of approximately 1,700 patrons. The design includes key elements such as acoustically optimized air handling systems, smoke control systems, acoustically isolated electrical infrastructure, electrical systems for theatrical and rigging, performance hall lighting and controls, and more. ICT worked closely with specialized performance consultants, including acoustics, theatrical, and audio-visual partners, to ensure the best possible outcome.
