The new 60,942 GSF Health Science Building includes academic classrooms, nursing, medical assisting, EMT, science and other class labs, faculty offices, and large flexible assembly space. Lab spaces replicate real-world environments, such as hospital rooms with central control, and a medical assisting lab that mirrors a physician's practice.
Lab spaces were provided for Biology Lab, Microbiology Lab, EMT and Paramedic Lab, Medical Assistant Skills Lab, and Patient Simulation Lab. Fume hoods were provided for the Biology and Microbiology Labs.
The Mary T. Barker Humanities Building renovation includes 25,289 SF primarily for Humanities courses including but not limited to English, History, Honors, Early Childhood Education, and faculty offices. The building renovation includes bathroom renovations, entrance upgrades, infrastructure updates, lighting updates, energy efficiency updates (where applicable), ADA compliance updates, and egress and emergency lighting updates.
