HCA Florida University Hospital

Davie, FL

This project consisted of the construction of a full-service five-story hospital on the existing site. An existing Freestanding Emergency Department building was retained and incorporated into the new building. The building is structured for an additional five floors and will become classified as a high-rise with future expansion.

A remote Central Energy Plant provides chilled water, hot water, and other services for the building. Approximately 2,800 tons of cooling is provided incorporating high-efficiency Magnetic Levitating chillers and a Heat Recovery chiller. High-efficiency fully-condensing boilers provide heat as needed.

Four megawatts of emergency power generation with on-site fuel oil storage serve the power needs. Provisions are made for cooling while under emergency power.

The building is fully sprinklered for fire protection and is designed as a future high-rise. A state of the art Building Automation System is used to control and monitor the building’s utilities, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. The campus includes a five-story Medical Office Building and a Parking Garage.
