Medical City Alliance

New 30-Bed Facility

Fort Worth, TX

Winning awards in Excellence in Patient Care, Medical City Alliance is a premier health center serving communities in Northern Tarrant County and Southern Denton County, Texas. Medical City Alliance was first constructed as a 155,000 SF hospital around an existing Free Standing Emergency Department. Since that time, the facility's patient tower has been expanded vertically to include additional patient beds. The hospital was the first LEED Silver hospital designed and built for HCA Healthcare. The design and construction team utilized several efforts to deliver the project in budget and ahead of schedule. Early Design Involvement (EDI) was introduced on this project. By bringing the mechanical and electrical subcontractors on board during the schematic design phase, major MPE equipment was evaluated for capacity and cost and was ordered early eliminating the long lead times which typically accompany major MPE infrastructure. In addition, this allowed the exact equipment being purchased to be modeled in ICT's 3-D design resulting in an overall savings in square footage for the mechanical and electrical rooms and thus the building as a whole. As part of the LEED effort, several sustainability items were included in ICT's design including enhanced commissioning, daylight harvesting, and water reduction efforts on several different platforms.

I. C. Thomasson Associates was honored to provide the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and IT design for this project, and we continue to work with HCA Healthcare and Medical City Alliance on ongoing projects.
