UCF Lake Nona Medical Center is a $175 million teaching hospital located on 37 acres within Orlando’s Lake Nona Medical City. This facility will provide healing for patients throughout Central Florida and beyond, educate the healthcare providers of the future, and support the work of brilliant medical researchers that will lead to lifesaving care. The facility is the first LEED for Healthcare version 4 Gold Certified Facility in the state of Florida.
Notable sustainable design features include:
- Condensate collection greywater system saving 1,250,000 gallons per year of potable water usage
- 30% building energy efficiency and utility savings over ASHRAE 90.1 – 2010 baseline achieving 13 of the available 20 energy and atmosphere optimization credits.
